Our Story
Our Language.
Their Legacy.
Deviwo was born from a simple, powerful desire: to keep the vibrant sounds of Ewe (Eʋegbe) alive for families raising children far from home.
Where the Journey Began
Growing up in the UK with parents from Ghana’s Volta Region, I was surrounded by Ewe alongside the English we spoke every day. My brothers and I aren’t native speakers, but our parents made sure we could understand and hold our own in conversation.
As a mother now, I wanted more for my daughter. I wanted her not just to understand, but to feel confident to speak and to feel connected to her roots and culture. That’s where this journey began.
Our Mission
1 Language.
Countless Families.
A Shared Future.
We set out to make it easier for families everywhere to pass on the Ewe language with confidence so it doesn’t disappear while generations grow further apart. By giving families practical tools, joyful design and authentic voices, Deviwo helps keep Ewe alive in homes around the world, bridging heritage across generations
Why Deviwo?
In Ewe, Deviwo means children. Our name is our promise.
It reflects our purpose: passing language and culture to the next generation while giving families the tools to learn and grow together. Deviwo is about remembering the stories we carry and the voices that live in the languages we speak.

This is Just the Beginning
Ewe is one of Africa’s great languages, spoken in Ghana, Togo and across the diaspora. At Deviwo, we’re starting with animals, but this is only Volume One of a much bigger journey to celebrate, preserve and share Ewe with the world.
